The best way is to take the machines apart and take them to an 
industrial powder coating firm.  They can put on a very professional 
wrinkle finish just like Teletype Corp. did.  You need to take all of 
the parts in at the same time to get a good price.  It costs about 
$100. for them to just turn the oven on.
Make sure to remove all parts you don't want to have black wrinkle.

I have a M14 strip printer that looks like it just came out of the 
factory after this method.  Before it looked like junk.

Alternatively you can use a Rustoleum satin black spray paint and 
just spray the equipment.  This is what we used to do in the Bell 
System.
