Dick:

I am forwarding this to the greenkeys list -- interesting stuff. You and
Doug Aldridge should talk about phone equipment. He has some central
switching gear that he is restoring. Can't find his email at the moment,
but he should see this on the list.

Hi Gil
We had a visitor at our museum who has volunteered to build us a
website. He has some errors in the text but so far it looks like it he is
doing a good job. It will be nice when he turns it over to us so we can
add pix and do our own text
. We have several thousand square feet of floor space and its all used up,
and we have a vast amount of equipment in storage. We are located in a
Qwest CO in the south end of Seattle and have been working on the
collection for about fifteen years. I had 34 years working in Toll or Long
Lines and have been retired for twenty years.
I have been working on restoration of Teletype and old telegraph gear as
my assist to the collection. We were very lucky to have started the museum
when there was a lot of old equipment sitting dead in the CO's Our
teletype and telegraph gear all terminates in an old #9A TLT testboard and
we even were lucky enough to find one of the old 14 monitor teletypes that
brought the rangefinder out on the top front for taking bias readings, also
a complete set of the fox generators for 60-75 & 100 wpm.
We also have a 2B hub board which was the last tty testboard in Seattle,
we have yet to start wiring anything into it as yet.
Planning on getting a digital camera so will be able send you pictures.
Our web as far as it has progressed is
http://communicationsmuseum.tripod.com/

                    73's for now Dick N7ZL
