Heck. In NY Telephone we used a Sears Dishwasher to clean our typing units (15's and 28's). Throw in some cheap detergent, run it through a wash cycle and then blowdry it. Next, oil all moving parts and felts and run the machine for about an hour. The coils and platens seemed to survive just fine...! Jack WA2HWJ
