Paul,

What do you want to use the "old setup" for? If it's
just to copy off-air, then you can get away with
a fairly simple TU and any kind of TTY.

There's a few military TTY's out there that are
compact and very versatile (they copy from 60
wpm 5-level, Baudot, right up to 4800 baud
8-level ASCII). One model number is UGC-129.
Fair Radio has them and you might find one
on the Greenkeys list. As far as a TU...the ST5000 is
a simple yet high-quality unit. I would advise you
to stay away from military TU's since they don't
typically copy noisey signals well and they don't have a
lot of the sharp filtering that Ham TU's need.

Incidentally, if you have something like a PK232,
or any type of multi-mode processor that copies
RTTY, it could be interfaced to the UGC129 or any
TTY that has RS232 capability. I have used a
Teletype Model 33 with my PK232 and it works fine.
