[GreenKeys] reassembling the keyboard, how to get the wedgelock bar
connected again

I have been trying to clean up and mix and match parts from two keyboards
for a model 28 teletype.
I have a question about how to put the keyboard back together ( :-( )
I'll try to use the terminology from the Teletype manual here.
I removed the code keylevers from the function levers, by just pulling them
off.
The function levers all hook to this strip called the wedgelock, which has
a channel
of ball bearings and little wedge shaped pieces of metal, to allow only one
key to
be depressed at a time.
My question is, what is the easiest way to hook all the function levers
back into the wedgelock?
The little wedges all kind of flop around when they are disconnected.
Any tips from some old TTY maintainers?
