Be careful with that "wood". The paint sounds like the 1970's colors that Ma
Bell once used. I once went into a telco business office one Monday after
the painters had painted all of the Model 15's and 19's into a mustard
yellow, glopping up the keyboards and TD's!! Half of the machines wouldn't
work...
My Model 26 wood table is actually a thin laminate of wood veneer over
cardboard(!) on the sides. The top was covered with what looks like
masonite. Not sure if the 15 is the same...my 15 and 19 tables are steel.

The point is...there's not a lot of wood to play with, so sand carefully
(maybe a chemical paint remover would work better).
