maybe not 'nirvana', more like 7th heaven, but not quite
cloud 9 yet.

Anyway, the kerosene bath worked wonders in loosening up
a lot of stiff joints. A few type bars were still stiff
but some liquid wrench and therapy cured that.  After a
jiffy lube, testing shows everything basically works, but
with persistant spaceing issues. Everything got an extra
space; print a character, extra space. LTRS, FIGS, BELL
all caused the carridge to space, even C/R.  Gave up
intending to look closer at the SP function bar the next day
When I flicked it on this AM the carridge just smoothly ran
from left to right. In THAT condition we were able to finger
the space gear trip level and found it quite stuck - I guess
after the kerosene it was loose enough to let several spaces
pass, but after sitting overnight it was stuck again. So more
liquid wrench and therapy and now that's operating correctly.

Hopefully I can do a more thorough lube in time for tonights
