  That sticky stuff is probably from decomposed pinch rollers on the
UGC-74's platen.  My preferred cleaners for that sort of thing are:

1st, naptha (lighter fluid)
2nd, ethyl alcohol
3rd, acetone
  And in rare cases, lacquer thinner or xylene.

  UGC-74 pinch roller gerb is rotten stuff -  good luck with it.
