[GreenKeys] 28ASR Keyboard Question

Hello Group,

In preparation for making some punched tape for a greenkeys demo that a
friend will be doing soon I was working with my 28ASR that I haven't spent
a lot of time with since I acquired it over a year ago. After an afternoon
of fiddling with the wiring, pulling the punch out and cleaning a paper
path that had some crusted yuck on it, and general futzing and swearing
over it I have it running just dandy. However I noticed that the
keyboard's space bar has an autorepeat to it if you press the bar way down,
almost like a second touch on an organ keyboard.

None of my other 28s (three KSRs) do this. Is this a feature of the ASR
keyboard or an add-on option, or...? And, can I disable it -- easily? I
am not that good of a typist and find myself getting lots of extra spaces
at times because I mash the bar down too hard. I peered into the keyboard
mechanism whilst typing and saw what was getting activated when I would
push the space bar down all the way, but didn't see readily what I could do
to keep the repeat from kicking in.

Any thoughts or ideas from the ones who serviced these in their
heyday? Oh, and you can see a photo of it and some of my other greenkey
machines at http://www.pce.net/dalderdi/telegrph.htm

Tnx es 73,

Doug, KA2WFT
