You might consider an alternative of keeping the 28 at 100 speed - after
all it's a pretty impressive show at that speed - and doing speed
conversion to work with the other equipment. One way would be to use a
couple of UARTs, and maybe a buffer - sure wish we could still get some
of those old 1970s circuit boards for building things like this. There
were a bunch of designs floating around in various publications. The
other way, probably easier, is to get a junker PC with two COM ports and
have it do the buffering and speed conversion.
