I worked him as well and wondered if it was legit since there was no prior
announcement as far as I know.  AS always, work 'em first and worry later.

I worked HD9IWH/8 on 17 cw. There is no info on this station in QRZ.COM. If
someone comes up with some info on him, please post to the reflector. 
Hopefully he is legit and is on the Galapagos. HC8 seems to be rare these
days.
