I hope you are all busy working DX as I haven't heard much from the group in
terms of activity yet. Propagation has not been too bad and should be
getting better. SFI average number have increased from about 70 a couple of
years ago to 80 or better the past couple of months and should continue to
go up, increasing activity on the higher HF bands.

I have updated the DX Challenge standings I have received so far, please
send me your updates when you can. I am sure there will be some big jumps
after a couple of upcoming contests. There is no set time period for sending
your updates, send them whenever you like, but to send them in. I may not
update every week, but I promise to update fairly often and receiving
updates will make me update the web page sooner.

The ILQDX digipeater on 144.910 is back on the air and seems to be working,
I could use someone else with packet capability test it out and let me know
if it works for you. The only RF station I have had log into the NG9R-1 DX
Spider node for the past couple of years is NM9C and he can hit me direct.

Speaking of the DX node, it is there for your use. You might ask, what does
it have to offer that I can't get from DX Summit? Well, for one, you can set
filters to eliminate those unwanted spots or alert you for that last
country, band/mode or VHF band opening. Second, it is very easy to send talk
messages or chat with the local group if we are all on the same node. On
that note, I know some of you use logging software to check into the cluster
but never look at the packet window. I try to send an occasional message to
any of the Great River DX guys when I see them logged in, but almost never
get an answer. It is hard to chat when to other station never looks at their
packet screen. Most program has some kind of sound alert that can be set to
let you know you have received a message of talk request. The VE7CC CC user
software makes this very simple and can be interfaced to almost all logging
programs.

Good DX,
Danny NG9R
