If you missed it, the Great River DX group met yesterday (Saturday) at
Fiddlesticks in Hannibal. Thanks to K0CA for arranging this get together, it
was a good time and more than worth the effort to be there.

K0CA suggested we do an event to get the members on the air and suggested a
DXCC Challenge for 2011. A little discussion followed and a simple set rules
were decided on.

Announcing the Great River DXCC Challenge.

The object (besides instigating activity) is for each station to work as
many DXCC countries as possible during the 2011 calendar year. These
contacts can be any legal mode on HF and VHF, but no satellite or repeater
QSO's or internet modes (such as Echolink, ILRP or CQ100). QSO's must be
made between 0000 UTC January 1, 2011 and 2359 UTC December 31, 2011. QSL
cards are not needed, we will use the honor system. Please report your
progress to the group email reflector and they will be collected and running
totals will be posted on the club web site. I have added a page to the GRDX
web site for this with the rules
