Hi People,

I was on this afternoon at LZ9W from 1130Z to 1230Z. I was only
able to work about 10 NA stations. The closest to Great River DX was
a chat with John Yodis, K2VV at Moscow Mills. He was about S6 with
high power and a monobander. At 1200Z the Scandinavian DX contest
started and the band was loaded with CQ DX. Remember, all those LA,
SM, OH, and OZs have their beams pointed south, directly at LZ! They
were 40 over.

We had a wonderful time with the LZ9W contest crew. About 8 LZs
showed up at the site to visit and meet with Terry and me. We had a
wonderful lunch. The station is located on the side of a large hill
at about 3000' elevation in the woods with a clear downhill shot from
about 240 to 100 degrees through north. I was using a Kenwood
TS-850, 6 element monoband Yagi, and an Acom based 20 mono amp. I
noticed that the wattmeter was peaking 1900 watts!

We arrive STL tmw night.

73,

Lew
