All,

Thanks to everyone who tried to keep the reflector up to date on the BS7H
operation by posting alerts to the group. I know the alerts helped me and I
hope others benefited from the posts as well.

A particular thank you goes to Cliff K0CA who not only took the time to post
real time frequency and mode info but also posted the news releases coming
from the BS7H support group as well. Thank you Cliff.

I hope everyone from this group who wanted a contact with the Scarborough
operation was able to get into their log at least once. This one was a long
time coming (10 years) and it could be that long again before we hear
another station on from that rare spot.

Unfortunately not everyone world wide was able to work them. I read on the
web that there has been a lot of criticism of the group as they were not
ever very strong in the US, particularly on the East Coast. Well, first of
all, those East Coasters should try the upper Midwest where no rare DX is
ever strong. And to boot, we have to fight through both coasts for the rare
ones. Secondly, what can you expect from stations that are perched upon
rocks no more than a few feet square in area and only totally dry at low
tide? It is kind of difficult to erect any kind of a gain antenna in an
area the size of the top of a good mole hill. Those who would criticize the
group should have been perched there with them to see how they would have
done.

Mike, NA9Q
