[Great-River-DX] Re: packet cluster digi operation reports

The W9AWE node has been linked to W9ZRX for some time and gets DX spots from
W9ZRX but no local traffic can go back to W9ZRX, so currently there is no
way for the local RF users to know who is logged into W9ZRX via telnet nor
will any messages sent from local RF users go back to anyone using any other
spotting network.

I believe it is a software thing and can't be fixed without some kind of
software change.  Something to discuss when we get together.

Also, there has been almost no activity on the RF link, maybe 4 separate
users.  There are at least a couple of our members that will have to rely on
RF for their spots, due to being on a dial-up internet access out in the
country.  Out of the 15 or so Great River DX members, so far I have only
seen NM9C, AA9GL, and myself on RF and only NA9Q (linking to W9AWE), K0CA
and K4VX on W9ZRX.  I know KA9CFD uses a different spotting network, how
about the rest of you?

Danny and Mike, thanks for your work on the packetcluster.  Mike had talked
earlier about  linking the local packetcluster to the Internet via the W9ZRX
site.  Hopefully that would allow those of us who are accessing
packetcluster via W9ZRX (or whatever site Mike selects), to be able to use
the Talk function to chat with Great River DX Group members.

When time permits, I hope that's still in the plans.  There's certainly no
hurry, since those of us on the Internet currently have packetcluster
access.  Thanks.
