Just a quick note to let the list know that I'm still working hard on this.  In fact, Dave Platt has joined me.  There are some difficulties in the pulse stream coming from a Motorola Oncore UT+ receiver that have so far prevented actual phase lock.  At this point, we can remain in phase for a few hours, only to see anomalous data send it drifting off 360 degrees and then lock on again.   Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll be able to overcome them.  I think that a newer GPS receiver wouldn't have these difficulties with some form of our current code, but I suspect that most people making Bert's system will use an older Oncore of some stripe or other.
