With some advice from the "time nuts" mailing list I was
able to get my HP oscillator to act right. It turned out
that the control voltage was having little effect at all.
A touch-up of some solder points on the board inside
the oscillator package seems to have fixed the problem.
So!
Now I have a few weeks of log file accumulated on
my linux-based computer. What statistics can I run
that would help me tune my settings for best performance?
I see that the PC software tool has some kind of calculation
and I assume that I could do the same calculation using
my log on the linux box. Can someone describe to me
what that calculation is?
