I didn't buy a new cabinet for mine. Instead, I used my
usual approach for projects like this - I went down to
our local surplus-electronics-and-junk barn (Weird Stuff
Warehouse in Sunnyvale) and looked around for a piece
of obsolete electronics gear which had a case of the
right size and shape for what I wanted to put into it.

In the past I've found old serial- and parallel-port
switchboxes to be good for things of this sort. This
time around, I found a box which held an old-style
frequency-hopping wireless access point / controller.
Bought it, gutted it, drilled a few new holes, made a
new front label for it, and it worked just fine.

Old, obsolete electronic devices with good solid cases
can often be had for $5 or so at stores like this,
thrift stores / charity shops, garage sales, flea
markets, and so forth. An equivalent-size new sheet
metal box of equal quality (blank and unused) is going
to cost several times that much.
