| With the current availbility of the Datum LPRO Rubidium Oscillator that are
coming on the surplus market.
| Has anyone tried to interface one of these units with the GPS-Derived
Frequency Standard?
| These Datum units have an external frequency adjustment input. 0Vdc to 5 Vdc
on pin J1-7 and rtn on pin J1-2.
| Info on the Datum units is at:
| Any thoughts or ideas on this?
| I have not yet built my GPS Standard yet. So maybe this is the way to go.
| Thanks

| I'm just wondering about the tolerance of accuracy of the rubidium units
| vs. deriving the accuracy from a GPS. I thought the idea of the rubidium
| standard was that it was accurate and stable enough to not need that.
| I haven't really looked into it yet; I do know that the stability and
| accuracy of my stand-alone OCXO's out in the field is adequate for use as
| a reference up through 10 GHz as long as I calibrate it against something
| more accurate every once in a while. The last time I checked it didn't
| even need tweaking.
| I may need something more accurate for the LO when I get my 47 and 78 GHz
| transverters done, hopefully over the winter.
