[GPS_Standard] Trimble palisade connectors bulk buy

Dear all
A number of you have purchased Trimble Palisade GPS receivers in the past.
We had far fewer cables than units, so many of you did not get connectors.
The 12 pin  connectors are available from Farnell  and others in the UK, but 
Farnell are not cheap, and other suppliers have a minimum order levels and 
postage costs that make 0ne-off purchase daunting.
Farnell cost 1 off is about £12.70 inc VAT (including pin insertion tool and 
10 pins of which only 8 are really required. ) Postage is free if your total 
order exceeds £30 i beleive.

I can get these cheaper in a bulk purchase.
10 off they are £8.41 each, 25 off  £7.50 each  (body, 8pins, boot and a 
tool) including delivery to one location.
Postage and packing out to individuals would be at cost (I guess about £1)
this represents a reasonable saving.

there is quite a lead time on these connectors, if ordered now they would be 
available sometime in September.
I would suggest that standard CAT5 UTP cable would probably be adequate for 
most runs. The cable boots are for 4.5mm cable nominal, but can be trimmed 
back for larger diameter cables up to about 8mm max

The Trimble Palisade units have 12 pins but only 8 are needed for most 
applications. This allows telemetry to and from the unit for diagnostics and 
1PPS. (4 is bare minimum 12v and 1PPS for timing applications just needing 
the 1PPS) (Signalling is RS422 differential type)

The GPS receiver units are also still available now at the reduced price of 
£10 plus P&P (£4.00) in the UK.  see www.dc2light.co.uk  for more info on 
them.
The plan is to sell the units with a connector, for about £22.50 delivered 
within the UK, about £24.50  via airmail to EC, when I get connectors in 
stock.
