[GPS_Standard] Followup 1 pps signal on Trimble Unts

I was finally able to detect the pps signal -- it appears to be 2 volts. I
just didn't have the triggering figured out. But this now begs the question
of why I am not getting the pulse recognized. The LED just stays amber,
although I believe I have seen it red on occasion.

Thanks,
Jack

Subject: 1 pps signal on Trimble Unts

Folks,
I have two Trimble Lassen units (Ace II and Ace III) both of which detect
and report out positions with the Trimble monitor software – can almost see
the cable hanging from the window on the Birdseye view (HI.)  However, no
pulse is reported on the LED nor can I detect the pulse with my scope on
either the GPS board or in the interface (open collector with 10K pullup.) I
have a 150 mHz Tektronix scope and have tried various approaches to
detecting the pulse. I see very faint pulse in some displays. I see no
options for enabling this in software but don’t understand why neither unit
seems to be outputting the pulse.  Montrol is reporting out status lines
every 16 seconds.  Has anyone had similar experiences or any ideas on this
problem.  I did order an Oncore GT+ from EBAY and will try that as well.

Thanks.

Jack
