[GPS_Standard] Control Software

Hi Bob,

You have procured a fine automotive-grade unit. I also use the GT+ on my
standard. GPS units of timing-grade provide a better acuracy on their 1PPS
output. The Oncore UT or UT+ are good examples. My understanding is that the
Axiom M12M is currently the top of the line. But you don't need a timing
grade unit to get the specified 10e-10 decade accuracy. Trimble, Motorola,
Rockwell, Garmin make good automotive-grade units suitable for this project.
Remember that we sample for a few hours before making OCXO adjustments...

A software freely available on the web to set up the Oncores (exclusively)
is WinOncore12. Not all features offered by the software are supported by
all GPS models, but for setup an monitoring, this one is the way to go.

Regards,

Bert, VE2ZAZ

Hi Bert.
I have just bought a Motorola Oncore GT+ receiver for use with my time
base. What Communications software should I get for talking to it?
 Regards, Bob K7HBG

PS, What is the GPS receiver that is the best to use with your project?
