[GE] Orion programming cable for[D2BHG3]

Hello Folks,

I am looking for any info on constructing a programming cable for my Orion. Would like to get it on 6m! I understand that the programming cable is basically in parallel with the cable that runs from the radio to the control head. I think I have all the parts and pieces to construct, but would like all the info I can get. I do have software, but have not "looked" at it !

I have heard of much praise for the Orion.........Is it fairly easy to get on 6 meters? Any retune involved, or all software? Any tweaking of the software files involved? Thank you very much for any assistance.
