[GE] Programming GE PLS

Hello all!
I ahve been playing around with a UHF GE PLS portable and trying to =
"move" it to the ham band.  I understand that the programmer (i.e. =
suitcase programmer) specifically locks out frequencies below 450 Mhz, =
but the PLS will work there.  Anyone have any ideas?  Are there any of =
the "homebrew" programmers that folks have used with this portable? =20
