Hello...

I have been converting some rangrs and deltas to ham freqs with only
limited success. Below are some of the problems. It would be great to hear
if these are common, of if I just got unlucky. Of course, solutions are
most welcome....

1. 450 rangr with great sensitivity 450 MHz and up, dismal by 445 MHz.

2. Three separate VHF rangr units where TX works fine down to 140 MHz but
RX VCO won't lock below 152 MHz.... That's 152, not 142!

3. One VHF rangr where VCO lock light goes out on some receive channels,
but squelch won't open and not clear if it hears signals. I have to
trouble-shoot this a bit more.

4. VHF Delta-S wideband TX works fine, RX VCO lock light won't go out
anywhere from 140 to 170 MHz.

5. VHF Delta-S narrow band. Had to pad the VCO chip caps both RX and TX to
make it lock below 143 MHz. This worked, but now low power out and slight
TX instability.

At least for the rangr rx, I may have trouble setting the range. I am
using the Niles software to make an eeprom image, then some freeware to
program the x2212 outside of the radio.

Thanks,

=Randy=
