If you use VOL/SQ HI on the rcvr to the controller, you must add
de-emphasis. This is easily done by ading a 6.8K in series and
then a 0.2uf cap to gnd on the controller side of the 6.8K...
You may play with the resistor value to change the knee of the ckt...
I have seen GE use a 10K and 0.1uf cap...but the 6.8K/0.2 always works
good for me (Its what Spectrum uses on the SCR series rcvrs...)
