Subject: Re: Fort Mott POTA Activation and Historic Soldiers Weekend

After reviewing the forecasts for this weekend and consulting with our club leadership, we have decided to cancel our Fort Mott POTA activation and special event. This also includes our scheduled set up session for this afternoon.

The Historic Soldiers Weekend event will still be happening, but the staff at Fort Mott has informed us that they anticipate a number of re-enactment groups will be cancelling and that they fully understand if we need to cancel as well.

I am sorry that we need to cancel but given the anticipated rain and high winds undertaking the event would not be practical.

Alternatively, we are exploring a possible club POTA activation at Fort Mott for later in October sometime after our scheduled hamfest. This would be a one-day event and not associated with the Historic Soldiers Weekend. More information on that will follow.

I want to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm for our Revolutionary War POTA events. Enjoy your weekend and be safe
