I've been remiss in getting this announcement out, and now we're only two weeks away. My apologies for the late notice, but there's still time to get in on this interesting opportunity.

You're already familiar with the America250 celebrations through our Revolutionary War POTA activation planning. This is another piece of that same picture: New Jersey's W1AW/2 activation begins June 3rd, and individual operators — including each of you — can sign up to operate under that iconic callsign from your own home station.

The SNJ Section Manager, Ron Fish KX1W, has noted a scheduling tool for NJ operators, but sign-ups across the state have been extremely sparse. GCARC hasn't had any slots claimed yet, and Ron has reached out to club presidents directly asking individuals — not just clubs as organizations — to step up and get on the scheduler.

This is a simple ask:

1. Go to the scheduler: https://teamup.com/ksnonywghfgpomd3z5
2. Pick a time slot (or a few) that works for you
3. List your club affiliation as GCARC / W2MMD
4. Get on the air using the W1AW/2 callsign
5. Submit your ADIF log file to nj_w1aw at yahoo.com when you're done

You can operate phone, CW, or digital — whatever you're comfortable with. Please check what mode and frequency others have already reserved and spread the activity around rather than doubling up.

The W1AW callsign doesn't come around often. Thousands of stations worldwide will be specifically hunting W1AW/2 during our New Jersey week to complete their America250 WAS award — and you could be the one giving out those contacts and putting GCARC on the map.
