Field day was very enjoyable. despite HF band condition being less than
desirable especially QSB. There was an apparent increase in new CW operators
which was gratifying.

 

Working barefoot with 100 watts and wires adds to the fun especially when
you're challenged to get that contact, but you and the other ops will
struggle to get that contact even after 5 AGN's. I didn't have one station
give up on completing a QSO.

 

I was able to work 80 meters decently for the first time in about 55 years
by putting up a last minute RADIOWAYZ All band short Center Fed dipole less
than 25 feet high.

 

The rain stopped Sunday and I was able to get up to the club house for a
couple of hours and work from the clubhouse and got home in time to get in
the last 15 minutes of the contest.

 

I hope that everyone that participated in FD enjoyed it.
