Hi all,
Wow, so many milestones this weekend for this contest from home.
Totally amazed at how well everything played, and how great conditions were the whole weekend (except for 160 and almost as bad was 80)
35 hrs in the chair
Rig: FTDX-9000D/OM Power 2000A+
Antennas:
C31XR @52ft on HG-52SS
C3S on AB-577 rotatable, mainly leave at 150deg for instant change to grab Caribbean/SA.
40m dipole @100ft
75m dipole @95ft
160m inv L over 95ft tree, 5 above ground tuned radials
Key points all new highs:
*Lifetime high score of 4.1meg for this contest (30% higher than last year's score which was the previous lifetime high)
* 1200 Qs on 10m - " Ain't no meters like 10m"
* 139 countries on 10 - highest number ever worked on any band (15 & 20 also beat previous home records)
* 34zones on 10,15,20 - highest number zones ever worked.
*Highest mult total ever at 646, with 160 almost nothing.
* Over 600Q run on 10m in about 4hrs on 10m Sat
*N1MM 10Q rate meter hit 350/hr several times! Actual hours had at least 2 that were over 200 hrs
Murphy visits:
*One month ago the cable broke on my EZWay 75ft crankup while raising, no damage to the tower, but it's nested and possibly jammed. That went up August 2024. The XM-240 is on it but with 2 broken element tips so couldn't use it on 40. This greatly impacted 40m for Asia, where I had a number of great mults last year but not this year. Two weeks ago I got a dipole up for 40m, close to 100ft between a pair of trees.
