TO: GC-ARES
Mike N2WOQ is arranging some publicity for the SET, which will
be an AFTERNOON event, taking place from 1 PM until about 4 PM on Sunday,
October 26 at the GCARC clubhouse. We will take photos for later
publication so participants may want to show up wearing something other than
a torn T-shirt and faded jeans. We will need operators for a VHF/UHF
station, Winlink station and 75 meter phone. Also people to log activities
at each station as they occur. Chris AD2CS will be on hand as chaperone and
to help with tuning of the 160 meter loop that we will use for HF. Coffee
and Donuts will be provided.

Gloucester County Amateur Radio Club to Host Emergency Communications
Exercise
Mullica Hill, NJ - The Gloucester County Amateur Radio Club (GCARC) will
conduct a Simulated Emergency Test (SET) on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from
1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at its clubhouse near the 4H Fairgrounds on Bridgeton
Pike. The exercise will simulate an earthquake scenario, with club members
affiliated with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) practicing
critical communication skills.
ARES volunteers, licensed amateur radio operators registered for public
service communications during disasters, will send and receive messages
across Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and Salem
counties in Southern New Jersey. Using various frequencies and both analog
and digital modes, participants will log communications with specialized
procedures for post-exercise analysis.
