Hi all,
Amazing weekend!
More than doubled my LP score from VP9 the past 2 years.
So many personal milestones accomplished this weekend. Broke the 1000
multiplier barrier for the first time in this contest. As I passed 5meg Sat
evening around 9PM, I began hoping to make 10meg. I actually did, but only
in literally the last 10min of the contest! This is a lifetime high for this
contest. Highest QSO count ever at about 2900. Highest at VP9 was 1800 LP.
Fun to have VU7X Lakshadweep dxpedition for the mult and a rare one for my
TO3E DXCC. One of the hardest parts was picking the best band to be on. 40
was crushing it and Fri night I had almost 700Qs in the log with double
points, reflected in my QSO points totals, 40 is almost double that of all
the other bands combined. When 40 folded around 2AM, 20 was hopping and wide
open to EU and VK/ZL. 10,15, and 20 were open to US/EU literally all day,
with 20 pretty much around the clock. FM has an interesting path from SE
Asia,I believe via the equator. 599+ sigs from several YB, HS, and others
calling in. Many strong JA's without flutter.
Laurent FM5BH, my host is most gracious and drove me around when needed.
Retired and accommodating. I initially was going to rent a car, but his QTH
literally fronts on the main road, he parks his one car in an 8x12ft
driveway, no way could I have parked a rental there.
Over 6000 QSOs so far on the trip, over 4K CW (including the contest), and
another 1000+ on FT8. Flying home Tuesday,
73 Darrell AB2E
