And on Saturday May 31, of course, is the GCARC Picnic for which I expect the clubhouse will be closed so that all members can attend the picnic. So get your Clubhouse fix out of the way TOMORROW or on the 24, which is Memorial Day weekend and many members may be away.

Our Clubhouse is an outstanding asset and members are always encouraged to visit on Saturdays for projects, assistance, station operation, or socializing. However, on May 10 and May 17, the usual support will be limited due to the digital wattmeter construction project described in Crosstalk. Here's the schedule:

  *   May 3: Normal Clubhouse activities and assistance available (this is NOT Tech Saturday).
  *   May 10: Tech Saturday – digital wattmeter construction will occupy the work table and key helpers (including Chris and me) until early afternoon. Station operation and socializing are welcome, but assistance will be limited.
  *   May 17: Second wattmeter build session, with the work table in use. Several of the usual helpers will be at the Dayton Hamvention, further reducing support.
  *
May 24: Normal Clubhouse activities resume.

When you come by the Clubhouse check out the completed wattmeter project (Chris has one already assembled). This is a fascinating project for many reasons and although both building sessions are full we can add additional sessions later in the year for those who want to build their own units.
