Wish I had more time to operate. Fri night was not good to EU for me, only
worked 2 stations. Good luck working US/VE, but missed DC, ND, WA,NV, WY. Very
few VE's on and missed a lot of those. Sat night condx much better, and got
PJ2T, FM5BH, ZF5T, and KP4AA in the log first call. EU was strong enough to
round out DX mults with 28, all but 5 were EU, and 1 Africa mult. I have no room
for a beverage on a 210ft square lot, and my HiZ4 is compromised in the NW
position due to one vertical being in close proximity to a metal garage.
Generally works well for EU, and was typically 3 S-units lower noise than
listening on the Inverted-L, and when I added the u-tune filters on the 9000D,
that cut noise an additional 2 s units. All told, 4-5 S units lower using the
HiZ4 with the mechanical Yaesu u-tune filters. It was fun to see the EU skimmers
call me out on Sat night.
Finally cracked 400Qs at the very end before going to bed.
