There are three good reasons for us to join the American Red Cross:

 

1.	The New Jersey Region of the American Red Cross is our one and only
Served Agency.  
2.	The American Red Cross is by far the most professional Volunteer
Disaster Service Organization that I’ve ever served with. 
3.	You get to celebrate with our friends on the Battleship New Jersey,
during Red Cross Month, every year in March.   The only catch is you must
become a Registered Volunteer but there is no entrance fee.  Most of us have
joined the “Disaster Services Technology” group.  If you have any questions,

Join us to kick off Red Cross Month! On Sunday, March 2, 2025, the American
Red Cross New Jersey Region will be kicking off Red Cross Month onboard the
Battleship New Jersey and we’d love for our volunteers and employees to join
us!

For the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to kick off Red Cross Month on
the Battleship New Jersey with a ceremony and flag raising, which helps
acknowledge both the historic and ongoing relationship between the American
Red Cross and the U.S. Armed Forces.

March has been recognized as Red Cross Month for more than 80 years.
Beginning with President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943, every U.S. President
has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the American Red
Cross helps people across the country and around the world.

The flag raising, ceremony, and side-gun salute will take place on Sunday,
March 2.

This event is outdoors and is rain or shine. Please dress for the weather
and wear appropriate footwear to easily move around on a battleship. Parking
is free and available on Clinton Street with additional parking available by
the marina. Tours of the Battleship New Jersey are available after the
ceremony.
