Subject: Bike MS City to Shore Ride Update
Hello All:
Well less than 4 weeks out, and we still need that same 10+ route volunteers. We also have an urgent need at this time for “Logging Personnel”, as we have lost 3 from last year. This is a position that can be either a HAM or not, as long as they are computer literate, and can handle a keyboard quickly and precisely. (You can read the description of this position on our website.)
We will be starting assignments this week, so please get your sign up in as soon as possible. The later we get it, the harder it is to assign folks to their preference.
As a reminder, we are limited on our housing this year, which is why we had to put in place that volunteers traveling less that 60 miles to a checkpoint, we would not be able to give the free hotel room on Saturday night. To once again try to explain, with the event still having a ridership of about one half of pre-pandemic rides, causing the fund raising to be cut back so drastically from those years, and the price of the hotel rooms rising to an unbearable amount, we have to cut costs. As the ride grows back to pre-pandemic numbers, we are very hopeful that some of these restraints will be lifted. For those folks who are traveling far and looking to book something for Friday night in Ocean City, the Society is currently working on trying to get a group rate at the hotel for “out of pocket” payers for Friday Night. More to come on this as soon as we have information. 60 miles sounds far, but it is probably less, which is less than an hour.
Everyone on our active email list receives these emails, even if you have already volunteered. If you have volunteered and not received a confirmation email, please let us know so that we can make sure you are on the roster. Please forward this email to as many folks as you can to help us reach as many possible volunteers as possible.
You can find the sign up form, and much more information on the website <https://n3mss.wordpress.com> https://n3mss.wordpress.com
Please try to sign up soon, and we look forward to working WITH as many of you as possible.
With Much Appreciation
