Yesterday a team of club volunteers assisted by several professionals successfully completed the excavation for the two VHF tower bases and installed the reinforcing bar cages in those holes. Dirt from the holes was spread around the clubhouse area leveling out some uneven spots.

The next steps, which will be completed over the next few days, are to build the forms for the concrete and that will position the tower retaining bolts, and to get the township inspection done. At that point the concrete can be poured and will cure for the next month. Sometime in November the installation of the towers on the bases can take place and the process of obtaining and installing a great array of VHF antennas can begin. Combined with the outstanding VHF equipment in the clubhouse the club will have a state-of-the art VHF station that will allow club members to explore this exciting world of amateur radio.

Many thanks to Frank N3PUU, Al KB2AYU and the others who have put months of planning and effort into making this day a success!
