[GCARC] CHANGES TO THE NANO-VNA CLASS SCHEDULE

This is timely information for all who have already registered for the
upcoming NanoVNA classes, and possibly for some others who may now be able
to sign up.
As I began to assemble the circuit boards that we will be using in these
classes, I encountered a major problem. It turns out that three of the SMT
capacitor part numbers that I had ordered and received are *not* what they
are supposed to be. The three parts in question are all from the same
manufacturer and are uncommon parts. What happened is that these parts
were packed and labeled as being one type and value component when in fact
they were of different form factor and different values, quite unusable for
our purposes. Investigation of this problem showed it to be a manufacturer
issue that has affected all of the major suppliers. Mouser, Digikey, and
Newark Electronics all have the same bad stock on hand, and were apparently
unaware of the problem until I reported it to Mouser, where I purchased the
parts.
The end result is that I now have to wait for the correct parts to become
available in the wholesale system before I can obtain replacements for use
on our boards. I have been given a tentative re-supply date of 29
December. This means that I have to put off the classes until some point
after that date. As it works out, because of schedule issues, the soonest
that I will be able to hold the classes will be the 21st and 23rd of
January, and so that is the new scheduled dates for the classes.
To sum up, the NanoVNA classes *will not be held on 3 December and 5
December, but instead will be held on 21 January and 23 January!* The
times and location remain the same.
I hope that this will not present a hardship for anyone who has registered
for the classes, and that all of the existing enrollees can participate on
those dates. I further hope that the new dates will also permit some
additional members to participate.
My apologies for the change... it is beyond my control.
