[GCARC] CONTEST NEWS FOR THIS WEEKEND

Greetings All!

Just a reminder, this weekend is the CQ WPX SSB contest, and the
propagation forecast for both days is excellent! In this contest, everyone
can work everyone, but the scoring is based on a number of factors,
including the location of your contact, and what band you are operating on.
The exchange is a signal report (always 59!) plus a sequential serial
number, starting with 001 for your first contact. See the rules for
details. This is a great way to work a lot of DX in a short period of time,
and have a lot of fun while doing so. I will not be on the air, as I am
moving out this weekend, but I sure would like to take a break, turn on the
radio in the truck, and hear lots of GCARC members dipping their toes into
the contest pool for a few new DX contacts, as well as a fun time on the HF
