Here's a really fascinating article, especially for those who were around in the early decades of ham radio, on the development of the "culture" of the hobby. It goes back to the early years of radio, covers the create "code vs. no-code" controversy and battles over incentive licensing, QSL cards, what "eyeball QSOs" are and a host of ham historical trivia. It's worth a few minutes' reading for long-term hams who want to relive those years as well as new hams who want to know more about ham history.

Unfortunately this article is apparently all that's available from the book from which it's extracted - I checked several of the linked references that came up empty and only Amazon had a copy - for $245! No thanks - you can buy ten Boefengs for that!
