Subject: RIDE MS - CITY TO SHORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Greetings Once Again,

Our initial recruitment email fared well (but you all know me by now), I wish it would have been better. Once again, the dates of the event are September 28th and 29th , 2024. We ask that you all check your calendars to see if it is open, or it can be opened. This email is a little long, but please read through it, it may clear up some concerns.

We realize that the housing situation this year is putting a fowl taste into some folk’s mouths, but we ask you to please know that this IS IN NO WAY a reflection on what the Society feels about our volunteers. We are still, AND WILL ALWAYS BE, considered a needed and important part of this event. We ask you all to please realize that with the ridership still being below half of pre-Covid events, thus the revenue being so much less, and the cost of the rooms almost doubling from pre-Covid, that at this time, expenses need to be lowered. We are hoping that the ride will continue to grow over the next few years, allowing more latitude with expenses.

With all this in mind, we are asking everyone to please consider, and re-consider, coming out for our Public Service commitment to help find a cure for this horrible affliction. Even if you folks decide to make it a 1 day volunteering commitment, with enough volunteers, we can properly cover this event to make sure it is a SAFE and INFORMED endeavor.

Also please remember that Housing is being based on a case by case basis, and we are trying our best to make as many considerations as possible. One of the big misconceptions is that this applies to all positions. As an example, if you are assigned a SAG position, you may live only 20 miles from the start, but you will be working both days for what could be 12+ hours. OF COURSE, you will have housing on Saturday night of the event. This applies to many positions. PLEASE, if you have any questions, CONTACT US.

We have also launched a website for information with the event. Please visit and pass along the web address: <https://n3mss.wordpress.com/> https://n3mss.wordpress.com/
We will be trying to update it as quickly as possible with as much information as possible.

There are a lot of folks out there changing their email addresses, and we need to update our database. Please forward this email to all HAMS you may know, and anyone else you think might be interested in helping. Even if you are not volunteering, please send us a message to update your email.

Thank You again to ALL, and we look forward to hearing from you and working WITH you this year.

With Much Appreciation
