While the number of long-term amateur radio satellites is unfortunately decreasing many organizations are launching short-term satellites that use amateur radio frequencies and communications methods to collect telemetry. Some also have transponders or repeaters that allow hams to communicate with each other while the satellite is overhead. Information about the satellites is published in the weekly AMSAT news service bulletin that's available through an RSS feed, on the AMSAT website or by email subscription.

I'd like to include updates on satellite operations and availability at the monthly General Membership meetings but would need a volunteer to read through these updates and prepare a short summary slide, much as Tony Starr K3TS does for the contest report. Perhaps some newly-licensed club member who's interested in contributing to club activities would be willing to take on this task. If so please email me and I'll get you set up.

Thanks
