Participating in the research associated with the eclipse looks like a rare and interesting opportunity for hams in general and club members in particular, but creating club participation would require a leader who's willing to understand the issues, promote them to the membership and generally coordinate the effort throughout the event and its aftermath. If someone is willing to take on this short-term project leadership role please let me know. The club will provide whatever reasonable resources, including meeting time, clubhouse access equipment use and publicity to create a successful club activity.
