A Call to Any and All Volunteers:

Time seems to be closing in fast. Our recruitment efforts are showing a good return, but can be better. Our last email only brought in 11 additional volunteers, of which only 6 were for Route HAMS. This of course means we are still looking for at least 20 additional volunteers for the Route.

I want to thank all of the folks who have already volunteered, and taken our request to even just come out for 1 day, while it would be nice to be able to cover both days.

If you have never been involved with us, or know nothing about MS, this can be a very debilitating neurologic disease that can affect the whole body. Not only can it take away a lot of the motor skills that we all take for granted, but can also affect the cognitive skills of a lot of folks. I have first hand knowledge of how this disease can affect someone, and also first hand knowledge of how this event helps with research and assistance to the folks living with MS in our area. (Yes – Locally)

This exposure to the disease that I have is what always prompts me to ask everyone, whether a HAM or not to look deep into their hearts to try and find the time to come out on September 28th and 29th to volunteer and help. So many past volunteers have come to me to express their astonishment of the gratitude that they encounter during the event from the riders, and the MS patients along the route for coming out to help. For myself, it is 22 years now that I am out there, in many different roles over the years, and the satisfaction level just gets better and better.

My last 15 years working with the HAMS has been extra special. I am proud to be part of a community that is dedicated to Community Service, and who show up with Knowledge and Professionalism that compares to none.

The quicker that we reach (and hopefully surpass) our volunteer goals, the quicker we can start assignments, and get out the information that you folks need.

So Please, sign up soon at: <https://forms.gle/LTvdHTUrGgTMZLJH8> https://forms.gle/LTvdHTUrGgTMZLJH8

Also, for more information, please see our website at: https://n3mss.wordpress.com/

Please forward this email to anyone that you know, as we can’t do it alone, and all your help is appreciated. We look forward to working WITH as many of you as possible this year, and for as many years as it takes to beat this disease.

Always With Appreciation and Gratitude,

Joe D (KC2SFB)

With Much Appreciation
