Here is a recap from the GCARC Meeting last night:

Since our severe WX tends to arrive from the Southwest (actually
SSW) due to the Coriolis effect, Radio Amateurs living in Gloucester County
can anticipate the arrival of WX fronts by monitoring SKYWARN Nets in
adjacent counties to our Southwest, i.e. Gloucester County can monitor Salem
(and Cumberland), Camden can monitor Gloucester, etc.

A list of repeaters hosting these nets was recently compiled by the SNJ ARES
SEC, Tom Devine WB2ALJ:

Camden County: K2EOC/R 146.895 (-) PL 91.5

Gloucester County: W2MMD/R 147.180 (+) PL 131.8

Salem County: N2KEJ/R 146.625 (-) 131.8

Cumberland County KE2CK/R 146.805 (-) 118.8

This scheme only works if people bother to provide ground observations
during severe weather events. SKYWARN may seem like "Chicken Little" nets
during Blue Sky conditions, but there are times when it is useful.

For example, SKYWARN could have helped us a few years ago to monitor the
path of a weather front that caused a Tornado to touch down in Woodstown,
them again in Mullica Hill, then again somewhere in Camden County.

P.S. The Hurricane Watch Net frequencies are 14.325 MHz during the day and
7.268 MHz at night.

Info may be available at 14.300 MHz when the net is NOT activated.
