Curt started with the Club in 1983 and was Club member ever since. Curt was 82.

Subject: K2CWM (SK) Curt Myers Obituary

It is with sadness that I have to announce that Curt, K2CWM has succumbed to his recent illness. After not checking in to a net, I called and asked Curt if he was OK, he said that he had to get a test done. After the test I called again and he told me that he “caught cancer”, trying to keep me from worrying I guess!

 

After his passing, at Curt’s request, the Family contacted me, asking me to help them as they part out his Station. I told them that the FCC will allow a Licensed Family member to take Curt’s call (K2CWM), and one member expressed interest. I now have the have the privilege of putting together a “Starter Station” (from Curt’s gear) for one of the Family members seeking to carry on Curt’s call, how cool is that! After that, the plan is to get a table (or tailgate) at the Outstanding GCARC Hamfest in a few days, September 10, 2023. I hope to see you there!

 

The Family is very grateful for your Thoughts and Prayers throughout Curt's battle with cancer, and I’m sure they would appreciate the same as they go through the next few months.
