The team at the RCA museum at Rowan University have once again come up with a fascinating presentation for our club. Steve DiMedio from that group has put together a presentation on the radios that were used by the Apollo astronauts as they walked on the moon! They were designed by Jack Yanosov, originally at RCA, and Steve recreated working models of them which he will demonstrate after a short PowerPoint presentation about their design and use.

Details will follow including the time and parking information but be sure to mark the date and plan to attend. The last visit by the GCARC to the RCA museum was well-attended and participants had high praise for the event.

Also in November will be the Leonid meteor shower and we'll be opening the Clubhouse on Friday and Saturday morning November 17 and 18 to attempt some meteor scatter contacts. Last time we worked about 8 stations so we're hoping for a similar success. Meteor scatter events only occur a few times each year so be sure to catch this one if you're interested in this fascinating mode of ham radio.
