This Forbes article showed up in my news feed today about the radios that Russian drones are using to protect them from jamming. The title suggested something nefarious or complex but in reality they appear to be the same type of off-the-shelf LoRa radios that we've used for APRS testing and other uses. There's no explanation as to why they're resistant to jamming other than the LoRa protocol being inherently robust and useful for sending small packages of data across long distances.

These radios are available in two frequency bands - 900 mhz and 433 mhz, the latter of which is in the 70 cm ham band. There's ham software available for APRS applications and also building mesh networks. We have a few of these radios kicking around in several places including the clubhouse so if you're interested in playing around with them let me know.
