[GCARC] Dinner at the Clubhouse next Wednesday night 10/26; also CQ DX Contest at the clubhouse on 10/29

Once again we’ll be having “Dinner at the Clubhouse” next Wednesday night. Last month’s event was very successful – we had about a dozen attendees and many interesting conversations – we also fired up the HF station and made some contacts with the new antennas.  There’s no food provided but many attendees got food from Marino’s Pizza in the shopping center slightly down the road. Doors open around 6 and we’re hoping for a good turnout.

ALSO – the CW Worldwide SSB DX context is the following weekend October 29-30 (Saturday and Sunday) and the clubhouse HF station will be open from 10 to 2 on Saturday for anyone who would like to operate. This is a great opportunity for new General class licensees to get on HF and work some good, easy DX with a top-notch station. The new antennas are ready, the amp will be connected to the HF radio and experienced operators will be there to provide guidance and tips.  Lots of great DX contacts are being reported recently so come down and be part of the action.
